This institution was started in the year 1956 by D.Jain High School Association, Baraut as Digamber Jain Engineering Institute in the beginning three years diploma in Civil Engineering was started. It was recognized by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh in 1962 and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Courses were introduced since then. The Polytechnic is entirely financed by the Govt. of Uttar Pradesh through the Director of Technical Education UP Kanpur asite. All the courses running in the institute are recognised by The Board of Technical Education U.P. Lucknow, and approved by AICTE, New Delhi.
